American corn mint (Mentha arvensis var. piperascens) is an herb plant native to China.

American corn mint is sometimes called ''Canadian Mint'', ''Chinese mint'', ''Corn mint'', or ''Japanese mint'' in English, ''Japanische Minze'' in German, or ''Hortela', or ''Menta-japonesa'' in Portuguese.

Harvesting and Storing

For most cooking, the leaves are used. The leaves of the plant may be dried for longer term storage.

Using

Like most mints, American corn mint can be used to make tea when dried. It can also be used cooked or raw to flavor salads, sweets, or beverages.[1]
