American wild mint (Mentha canadensis) is an herb plant native to North America. It is also known as ''Mentha arvensis var. glabrata'', ''Mentha arvensis var. villosa''[1] and ''Mentha arvensis var. canadensis''. It is sometimes called ''Canadian mint'' in English, or ''Menthe do Canada'' in French.[2] Some authors claim this species is related to American corn mint (Mentha arvensis var. piperascens).

Harvesting and Storing

The leaves are used most culinarily and can be dried for long term storage.

Using

The leaves of American wild mint can be used raw, cooked, or dried. Like many mints, dried or fresh leaves can be used to create tea. The minty flavor also lends American wild mint to use in salads or cooked foods.
