Herb
( herb )Herbs are the green and leafy parts of plants that are used for color and flavoring in food. They may be used in both fresh and dried forms. Flavorings that come from roots, nuts, seeds, flowers, and bark are not considered herbs for culinary purposes, instead they are called spices. Botanically, some plants such as rosemary and [Bay Laurel](bay laurel) are not considered herbs - though they may be considered herbs in the culinary world! Some plants are used as both herbs and spices, such as Dill (herb) and Dill Seed (spice) or leaves (Cilantro) and seeds of the Coriander plant.
